Success In Life Is Easily Measured

Doing Well

I needed a name for a Website and could not think of one. And while I was working on some ideas an old friend from college called me. "How are you doing?" he said. "I'm doing well," I said. And so I came up with the name for the site: DOING WELL.

I like to think I am successful in life. I meet my personal goals most of the time and I have my health. There is a lot to be said for that. As I was deciding what to write about I realized that most of what I had to say reflects on how well I am doing in life.

There are a lot of ways to measure success. You can compare your bank account to someone else's but there will always be some guy with more money than you. You can also compare your health to someone else's. And you can look at how happy you are.

I think success is best measured by looking at how satisfied you are with the results of your efforts. I mean the results of your efforts in life. Do you achieve the goals you set out to achieve? If not, how can you change that?

I don't succeed in everything. Sometimes I decide that the cost of trying isn't justified by the reward of succeeding. I have changed jobs, hobbies, and relationships because I didn't feel things would work out the way I wanted. If it's not what you want then why settle for it?

The articles you'll find on the following pages are my personal thoughts. I didn't pay anyone to write them. I hope you find them interesting and worth reading. That is what I want: that you enjoy the time you spend on this site.
